Generic Aygestin info:

Aygestin (norethindrone acetate) 5 mg oral tablets is used to treat women with abnormal bleeding from the uterus. Aygestin is also used to treat women who have stopped having menstrual periods for several months (amenorrhea) but who are not pregnant or going through menopause.

Aygestin is used for:

Treating certain menstrual problems or uterine problems (eg, abnormal bleeding, endometriosis). It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Aygestin is a progestin hormone. It works by altering the lining of the uterus.

Do NOT use Aygestin if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Aygestin
• you have vaginal bleeding of unknown cause, or if you have a history of blood clots, bleeding in the brain (eg, stroke), liver problems, known or suspected breast cancer, or genital cancer

• Beta-adrenergic blockers (eg, propranolol) or lamotrigine because their effectiveness may be decreased by Aygestin

Important safety information:
